The Allman Brothers Band's At Fillmore East, was of course the album that captured the original Allman Brothers Band at their high water mark, showcasing a group as original and fiery as any ever to take a stage, spotlighting and fueled by Betts and Duane Allman's remarkable playing. It's the ghost that the band and all its members were always chasing. Performances like the one heard here show remind us how large of a part Betts played in the ABB's brilliance and how he could summon the musical Gods on his best nights throughout his career. "When Dickey was feeling like this, his playing floated over time and existed on its own place. This performance is as good as any that I can recall the band doing."
